To iron or not to iron? The wellness professionals' secret tip.
In spa, beauty, thalassotherapy, or wellness professions, the image you project is an integral part of the client experience. And this image also comes through perfectly neat attire.
Our professional uniforms are designed with easy-care fabrics, washable at 40°C, and designed to avoid daily ironing.
But this doesn't mean ironing should be banned.
A light steam touch, from time to time, can restore shape, extend fiber durability, and give your outfit an impeccable drape without making it constraining to maintain.
Why iron... even when it's not essential
Occasional ironing allows you to:
- eliminate wrinkles and false creases
- improve fabric drape
- reveal material quality (cotton, polyester, technical fibers...)
- restructure sleeves, hems, seams
It's a gesture that can be useful before an important event, a photo shoot, or simply to restore brilliance to an outfit you wear often.
Steam ironing: hygiene and comfort benefits
Steam doesn't just smooth fibers. It:
- eliminates certain bacteria and allergens
- neutralizes odors
- refreshes an outfit between uses, without wearing it out
It's ideal for garments that don't support high-temperature washing.
Caring for materials without damaging them
Ironing, when done properly, can extend your garments' lifespan:
Natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool) → Steam relaxes fibers, prevents tension, and limits wear
Synthetic fibers (polyester, elastane, nylon) → Gentle ironing makes fabric softer and neater
Overall garment shape → By ironing structural areas (sleeves, collar, hems), you restore the piece's structure
Our tips for gentle and effective ironing
- Always adapt temperature to the material
→ Cotton/linen: high temperature, maximum 210 degrees
→ Synthetics: low temperature, maximum 120 degrees and on reverse side
- Use steam to relax fibers without damaging them
- Iron on reverse side to protect colors and prints
- Never iron stained fabric: heat would set the stain
- Let garments cool down before folding
In summary: a simple, useful gesture... but not mandatory
Our uniforms are designed to be ready-to-wear, without ironing. But if you wish to maintain your image with even more precision, or extend your favorite garment's lifespan, occasional sustainment can help you achieve this.
Taking care of your outfit means taking care of your image. And your image reflects your expertise.
